On June 29th 2006, a Community Visioning Day was held at École secondaire catholique Algonquin. The Kids & Community Visioning Day provided the opportunity for members of child serving agencies, as well as concerned parents in our community to join together in order to discuss barriers that parents face on their quest to full participation in community life. The day was facilitated by Graphic Facilitator, David Hasbury and the Executive Director of the Community Development Council of Quinte, Roni Summers Wickens.

Stemming from our Visioning Day, a list of barriers and ideas for action were established. A dedicated group of volunteer parents, called the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) emerged in order to develop community awareness initiatives, and to work on implementing the action plans developed from our Visioning Day. The PAC has been meeting regularly since July 2006.
